I didn't reply to any text greeting message during Chinese New Year except Superman -younger brother of passed producer - music man Tsai Chung Cheng. it don't feel any bad without response with canned greeting. you received many canned greeting, you caculate what's the popular one and what really came out from personal writing. social media and tele-communication change the way people communicate, especially in the country where culture / trandition counted. from the days people dress on new cloth and shoes, got up early on New Years days, knock door to door for the senior, associate and friends. then the telephone replace the door knocking, since when text message overtook the tool and become the most popular means in greeting people, it's hard to image to sent a " Group " message means anything to the person you pay your greeting ?
For the Chinese New Year, on new year eve, we had a very early dinner - to be more precise, it's a lunch, then we move on to Dao Liu for the first time new year in country yard. since father broken his leg, he spend decent time in the Taipei house, Meiling cook for him every day, and we decided to send him back on New Year Eve and brought kids together with us.
Hu Seng Yeng is a nice sceneray spot in the suburb of Dou Liu, it's all dark at where my father live, he live a country life, be a farmer, a poetist, a Tai Chi teacher and making friends with all walks of life there. we check the 3 dogs who we thought are family to my father : the Shio Pan - the yellow skin leader , another 2 black dogs - Shao Bao and Da Bao, they become our family friend when stay for 24 hours. it won't be a comfortable night in the country yard, thank God we brought sleeping bag with us, otherwise , none of us can get sleep.
I woke up early the following morning, take a walk outside the house, the tree, the bird singing and the fresh air -- this is not what money can buy, on my way up to the mountain, I saw a hundrend year old tree, magnaficiant and it took my break away.no wonder father love this land and preach me to live my retire life here? am I enjoy the luxury of retirment? I don't know.
We left the country house around noon time and check a few small city aroung Yulin Country. She Low is the place we visited first, ate the rice cake bowl - She Low is famouse with her rice and water. so, it's nice to be in the country and get the feel of a New Year Flavor.
On our way to Chung Hwa where we book a motel for stay, we pass a small town Si Hu - Meiling and I been there quite a few times - for the mutton hot pot, but this time, we visit the old suger cane factory - the one build in 1904 from the ancient Koo's family and now converted to a local culture musume, to take the suger cane train and have the captain explainted to us the rise and fall of the suger industry history in Taiwan, if quite informative and I really enjoy the ride.
to Si Chu - we went for visit a very old private school - the Hung Si Tutor House - I love the architecture so much, however, kids don't like it. ( wait a moment, this was done the follow day after Chung Hwa )
Stayed in Chang Hwa and take a walk on the night market, not many thing to eat but the small night market consisit 3 ancient temples, they are so beautiful and elegant, To me, it's like a journey of temple worship on New Year Day.
The following New Year Holidays were occuplied by new things, from day 3 to day 7. I didn't keep my promise for doing what should be done, but to stay and enjoy the emotional sensation.
New Year, a lot thing coming, YPO facilitation is kind of heavier than before, which I like it, the Der Ming commitment is a promise hard to keep. books and funding company is on the way.

Movie before Chines New Year
It's a habit - go to the movies during Chinese New Year, but what I will do it to screen it before New Year Eve. this is what I did yesterday.
The first one is : can't remember the title, but a film with the story of a retaliation for one contract killer under CIA. well an OK one, the second movie : Contrstbond is a good on. the story line is follow a very tight smuggling plan. and it was quite entertainment. I went for these 2 action movies yesterday, and this is my habit which follows for years.
Friday is the last working day for almost all the Chinese worker, I made the plan to visit Mr. Harold Han, for the new years' greeting and at the same time to explore the possiblility to re-invented Himalaya Foundation with my own plan.
Mr. Han is too smart to learn my intention, he advise me who ever wish to continue the mission for Foundation should not aim for either Fame or Fortune. I totally agreen with his base line and to cope with his age and experience, Mr. Han have no single reason to ruin his reputation in the last decade of his life. the last greeting he send me before I left is : I felt sorry for not able to support you on you starting new thing " as a matter of fact, the Fundation support Social Enterprise initative is a perfect plan, but there lays rocks still such as how to inject finanil from Foundation without cause any money laundary challenge. ect. so, this is a new way of thinking.
Having lunch with Jay and Eugenia at a great place - Salad Bay - an organic restaurant offer health and non-meat food, I love it very much, this is the first visit when decided not to depend on Eugenia any more, it was like 5 months ago, Jay is smart but .. Eugenia is good but to practical... so, what I did is to tell them I am a friend still, as for how I may support their business, it depend....sometimes people make a short-sightedd decision and ruit the long term relationship. if Walkie can reaman the support Roger always , then I have no doubt to networking for them as I did for others - Estoterism / Jasmine's company .
GIO high tea is the last event on Friday, met with Director Change and Supervisor Tseng , we go over some concert in the 23 Golden Melody Award, as the Chief Judge Panel, I will have 2 times media / press event, if this can link with my book publication, it should be a good re-ignite of my newe things.
Attending 2 years end party this year, all with Ryne and his sub-companies, such as Esoteriam and CSR community, it's fun to have both party at spicy hot-pot restuarant.
Met with Chris - son of Ryne and we share a few things, Cathy attend second dinner as host, she is a good person.

Sound decided to apply the devil camp for the last 5 month high school entrance examine, we met one skillful coach who share with us his knowledge about how to take advantage about the current testing model , I am impressed about his expertise although he is so talkative , sound training will begin from tomorrow !

Continue my bicycling for 3 days. It felt great and not been attack by the guilt feeling of over eating - especially for meat consumption ! Do my house keeping before taking mrt to LCPC : today is the first compensation committee meeting. I met the CFO Danny the first time , this is a format as to kill the fat cat is the trend . Taiwan is going 2 steps ahead and exercise all listing company for apply such regulation , for a mewing last for 30 minutes. You are rewarded for 30000 NT- similar to a graduate school employ ee salary ! So we are the rubber ink so to speak ! But this is fine with me!
Lunch with CSR Colleague and invite to a meeting at the meeting room , they are talking about Kim - an employee who develop cancer 2 years ago but reluctant to seek treatment , it give Celine an uncertainty in retain her and at the same time worries about her well being , I am not goving any advice but I inform they to make Kim understand that a certain degree of disclose for her health is a mutual benefit to all.
Rush back to red cow house - a French steak house located in an ally near Mucha : chef and owner mr Lin was Chef for late president Chiang and earn his reputation as one of the best french cook in Taiwan , I book the restaurant for creating momory for sound on his 16th birthday ! Although the food is not as good as we expected , but the 6 together dinner can only happen once in life

Life Academy Group Visit
The Group Visit was introduced by one of the members who think that to recruit or solicited perspective members is by members, and the peer sharing can bring to a better outcomes. I was called for join the group visiting again yesterday. and it works this time. I remember joined the first time, we spend 2 more hours on Mr. Yang and it dosen't work. but yesterday, with the founder of Realteck, it works. together we have CEO of Business Week Group Taiwan, Vice Chairman of ViewSonic, Lu Da Wen - my YPO fellows. Li Wen - a lady I am not familier with and the senor Tung Shung. Mr. Yeah is a person reluctant to share and try not to disclose his left brain - emotion to others. I read some story about Mr. Yeah on the internet the night before. so I hold certain picture of why he don't want to talk about personal issues.
I thought we can't be late, so, have Meiling drove me there and we left home quite early - one hour before the appointment, but the office address is so hard to find, with a minor unpleasant , I have to leave the car and asked help fro the taxi, thanks God I do this , otherwise, I will never find this place.
Chu - Vice Chairman of ViewSonic is so emotional, she burst out tears when sharing and disclose how misfortune she was - got married by 22, started her own business by 27 and divorce when the twins grow to 20 but identify the unsteadable situation of the twins even today. maybe this is why she need Life Academy so much. a believe beyond religion. I enjoy Li Wen's sharing, especially on the " Who stolen the money " part, in the beginning, I thought this is too dragging, but when it deal with the details, I found she is a great story teller. you only need to pay attention to listen, otherwise, you hear nothing.
as the group visiting finished earlier than schedule, I arrived at CSR office by moon and were luckly join the lunch and learning session with the author of " Taiwan belongs to who ? " a consultant who express his viewpoint in a very unique or " political incorrect manner ", but a person who can garner the apprial from Celine should be someone different.
Return home by 5:00 and waited Meiling, she didn't bring her phone with her all days, so my " I am sorry " call and message didn't work. Father broke his leg and have to stayed at home for one month, it gave a good chance for us to talk, during the dinner, he talked a lot and I am happy to act like a good listener, no matter if I am favor with his conversation.

Days without PC part 2
The gang o 4 had a new year eve lunch at " known 4 " restaurant , Jasper , Peter , Sidney and me, we talked as before, Jasper experience some challenge in his new company , but reluctant to disclosed more details, so we have another skin deep social meal and the bonus is : sidney offer his good gesture again , the virgra for midlife males.
On Jan 1st, Meiling and I went for the movie : girl with dragoon tattoo , it's a very entertaining R movie, we enjoy it very much, on following Monday , when done with my Esoterism meeting , we decided to go the " Skin " movie to finish the unfinished target , amodova is truly a great master, we love the film as much as his previous works, and I do have a great Tuesday out of town.
On Tuesday night, the TED talk really inspired me, the doctor at red cross and station in Afrhan for 21 years tells a touching story , about how human lost leg . Arms during the war pick up their dignity and hope once received a artificial legs and offer a job. Yes, so powerful .
Wed is a traveling day, out with meiling and embraced with the chilly sea winds in the san chi beach house, we take time at the coffee and finish one great Japanese movie : life of the disguise mustushida , it talked about the girl who looking for love or wanted to be loved for the whole life but ended with all the misfortune , a great film.

Days with no PC
The iPad life is totally different from the PC Life, PC life is an intention of work. As long as you are using the Microsoft operation system,Chou can work on the power point , word and excel still, sending or keeping the file prove you are working or in the working mood. And the no PC life prostrate me from the blogging routine again, it force me to retrieve my days earlier!
So coming back to new year eve, we do nothing but stayed with Sound, fruit didn't come home ,she stay with her boy friend -- yes, I took me so long to record her boy friend , they been seeing each other for 2 months, study at the same university , fruit saw his parent already , all the information gathers should qualified a boy friend.
