Big bird not teasing stray dog only

The flock of birds hiding at the green park is very naughty. the other day, after spotting the smart big bird teasing dogs, I witness another natural scene at the same park, that's when I finish my cafeterial lunch by noon and walked back to office, when crossing the mellow, I saw a big bird chasing the small bird - from the shape, I presume it is a spirrow, the big one bully the small one, I think it bite it also, in the low flying mode, it tilt and tilt, so, in the wildlife, animals not only defend from other species, but attack their own kind.
Laura called my up by 9:15 am, in a very harsh tone and mentioned David H. have call up a BU meeting for my resign announcement, I wasn't inform one minute before, nevermind, I do know it earlier and no surprise at all.
from the TV - The VC conference at China, I saw James, Steve, Ted and Hank, from our board room, Alex, Jacky, Jack, Paul, Max were there, it was short as there is no point to make a long resign announcement, Paul will take my CHRO / CAO positon from July 1st and sign off all the doucment from the day, I will remove my duty and be David H's special assitant and complete 3 task : Second Wave Stock Option communication; 2010 PSB ; H2O program revise and maybe the Compensation Committe hand over. what intereted is David said that I don't need to move from my corner office? interesting, why the symbolic meaning of power granted means so much to him? I don't understand, it demonstrate what he is : a power thirsty tyrant? or simply follow the rule? if by the rule, all the VP will have a private office, I am not against the rule, right? very intersting.
The internal memo announcment follows in 30 minutes, very simply as well, Max and Jacky came to my office show their caring. well, no big deal. as the IT transaction is not as smooth as we thought, I left Juregen a message and his return call for me to share my resignation news to him. we will meet each other next week for potential co-op,. yes, I love to, if he will.
Preparing 2 potential coaching customer profile - AURORA is a tought client, the more I review the information, the more I sense it won't be easy, New Wide, a great potential to work with, yes... I will do my best for this.
It rains cats and dogs last night around 6:30 pm, I can hardly get any radio taxi, Mitch show up at the lobby and politely asked if I need a ride, yes, I did, Mitch is our warehouse supervisor, he is been with Spirox for more than 10 years, sensetive and easy to get nervous, he asked if I can wait , he need to drive his car from the parking space, my response is : within 10 minutes will be OK, he drove to the front door and I get on the car, a Ford Seden, the music from the car is different, Classical, pure classical, I asked if he knew anyone in Spirox appreciat Classical music and mentioned James Wu to him, his answer surprise me, Mitch said James probabely won't be in his level of appreciation, then I follow with asked what kind of Classic he enjoy, DG lable, piano and flute - his wife teach flute,,, and he had a classical CD collection of 10.000 , that's a affrornido to Classic Music.
Mitch said it sad to hear my leaving, I asked why, Mitch mentioned I am really different from all the executive he co-worked before, no distance and no heriachy. I am so happy to hear the comment from him, I told him: Spirox employee is like good wine, it take time to wake them up, but the taste and smell will be graceful if you willing to take your time before appreicate it.
I think this is a good converation, it rains hard, and my heart is warm...

My first Executive Coach Sales pitch

No matter what product you want to sale, the sales process is the road no one can escape, I made my first sales pitch yesterday, following is the learning.
1. Potential client : Arora Group.
2. Who I initative the sale call: Patrick Chen - son of the founder and member of the board.
3. How I approcah him : as YPO member and his Forum trainer, I call him up for an one hour talk before joint activity.
4. Where we meet : Cafe of Ritz Hotel Taipei.
5. How I begin : by using the Forum protocal : Listen / Accept / Question / Sharing, I asked Patrick that we use the protocal to conduct our conversation. then I open with my decision of leaving Spirox and to developing my executive coaching career with full heart. and then asked how to make Arora a potential client to my service.
6. The finding:
-- Arora is suffering from no qualified HR head - equivent to CHRO to draw the strtegic HR developing within group. but the HR management is under a good system. they even enroll in WW survey plan.
-- Arora had bad experience with MBA / Bad Professional manager with too much althorization and almost lead it to bankrupcy situation. they are not fantasy about good school, good track record or good skill. in term of talent development, they tend to promot inside - for those who well adapt Arora culture ( this is blur to me still ), for the hired guy, the attrition rate is too high and the trust is an issue.
-- The keyman to decided whetere this group need executive coach is by his father, founder of the company, and his father is a very practical person, I must draw a very simple and clear picture of what I can do and how the value can be present to the group and most important, the KPI measurement must be there.
-- Patrick describe current situation : the overall productivity in China is only 1/4 of Taiwan, and the attrition rate is high, so them shrink down the retail from 450 to 350 to keep the productivity and margin; the market growth higher then the talent growth; middle manager attrituion is high; no success plan in 5 years if according to Arora's management rule : CEO ( committe chairman for management can only stay 2 turns total up to 4 years, next CEO must under the age of 50, in such a critirea, they much conduct a talent pool survey for talent under 45 with potential to be BU Head and provide the indivisual development plan and set the KPI for succession plan ), middle manager don't have the coaching skill, the scoll may result to hight leave rate or frustration.
-- Patrick describe the people in Arora : they are lovely ( he use a story to tell me in one typhoon day, how the shop automatically repair and fix everything ) they have a system enbedded to turn the machine on.
-- overall speaking : Aroa is in the growth mode with no hurry about talent development, they are afraid of so called professional superstar and really care about whether this coach or trainer can understand their culture and at the same time, deliver the result fit what their KPI measures.
7) counter fact and conclusion:
- The why me part? my natual call to make it a career in life / with experience to bridge among faminly biz owner, entrepruner and hired guns / provide coaching yet with added on value in marketing & and HR consultation solution / can directly knock on major firms door with the YPO ticket. / Forum sample as the token before
- The step follow: roger should prepare a selling set up for Patrick to arrange appointment with MR. Chen / Patrick will introduce Roger to join the Round Table development training in which Chen's family donate 200 seats ( between 9-10 millions NT ) / the schedule for pitching in late July when I am ready.

Red and First Taxi service company

I took the wrong car back to my studio last night when bought the bread for dinner, it belongs to the same radio call service taxi company ( Red ).; and I ring the same car company to where I live, somebody else hi-ject it and I have to take another radio call service company ( First ) which suppose to serve the guy who took my car. what am I writing this? nothing, but to tell a story happen today.
mini-serise on HBO is full of quality, I don't know why HBO self-produced film focus on noatagia mood - from the D-Day to Band of Brother, the Boardway Empire to what I wathced last night : --- Pierce , Kate Winstel is a great actor and we love ( yest, this is the 3rd night I call my wife home and asked her to watch HBO with me - on differenct location - Red Dragon to Sharkshell redemption to ...... Pierece . this scrip was adapted from the book , it must be a very powerful book, Meiling is wondering how come in the western world - the tension / relationship between Mother and Daughter reflect to what she experience in this part of the world. Vida with talent, but she is a snake, not puppy, nobody want to keep snake as puppy at home - cote from the Conductor said to her mother, this is absoulty right. we should not keep Fruit at home also..

Lieu Wey Ren pass away

I took a long noon break today, delay lunch to 2 pm and find the only open resturant near by Spirox office - Chung Hwa noodle and congue shop, the owner turn on the TV news and the anchor annoce the death of Lieu Wey Ren this morning.. I was there on Sunday night to support his concert. I did and Thanks God, I did.

RDA consulting turn project is more viable now, I called up Stone to find out some sensetive issue such as:
- how much we should quote? and the allocation to all the party invloved
- spaceshake corporation share agreement and process
- the biz card John Chew not yet return
- fund raising status
if Marty pay Stone 1000 US per day before, the combine consultant project should be measured on a deliverable scale.. what about Moa's contribution and allocation? I have not made up my mind yet?
Meiling told me to hold on the new company registration for 2 months, with Celine, she said Celine always riding on the wind, or jump on the speedwagon, levrage what I have - especially the YPO relationship.. she also remind me there's a liability Celine should clean up - what she borrowed should refund before next partnership, I almost forgot or ignor this situation.
Pre-board meeting yesterday , David H invited me to the board room and announce my resignation, I saw the wired face on Jeffery Yang and Jack Chen.. Hilo is so funny, when David H mentioned he is reluctant to approve my resignation, Hilo burst out with a " Why not retain Roger ? ", I am not sure he is too naive or out of the loop. anyway.. this is the end of the episode, I should not repeat the script again and agian, just like how Meiling facing Fruit, the old school script come back again and agian, the behavior pattern is so obvious to see, why to drag to such an uncomforable situation? this is totally ridiculous
Inform Tony / Lynn and Ski about my resignation, Tony is a little bit shock and Lynn is full of emotion, Ski is funny, he put a smile on his face and yes, he knew I am doing a right thing.
stick on the office clock, I don't want to be seen as a ballon without air, so, stay in the office, do what I have to do and smile to everyone. yes.
How come David H called my by 6:45 pm, it's my time now, if he is so picky about my leave process, why take up my personal time?
Review Sharkshell Redemption on HBO again, I went to this movie long time ago, probabley more than 20 years, to review it agian, a good film still. yes, Hope is beautiful and hope is the ture weapone, everyone should not give up his right for HOPE.

Bird teasing the dog

I just saw a bird teasing a dog on the volubard - the small park across Spirox Office building, it's so interesting, I should recorded it and posted on the youtube, the bird fly down and raid the dog several times, when the dog react, she flew up and stand on the high wire waited for next attact, I didn't know how long it last, neither know how often it took place, but it is so fun to witness. from the window of 12th floor, I happen to see this wonder, really really funny.
I was summond to the board meeting before it started, David annouce my resignation and approve it at the board meeting, I saw the shock from Jeffery Yang and Jach Chen. my friend Hilo is a little bit naive, asked David not to approve my resignation. how interesting he was.
RDA plan is going to follow with 2 months consultation.. Space Shake I am asked a fomal and official incorporation contract. yes, it is. do every formally upfront.
Inform Lynn / Ski and Tony about my resignation, Paul will take my place from July 1st and my official day of leave is July 30th with 2 weeks annual leave. hummmmm..

New development and change of leaving day

The Monday discussion with David push back my resign day to end of July, it can be a mutual win-win if we play it right. for me : entitle to receive my Profit Sharing Bonus in full and process the executive leave according to the HR rule : 45 days before. For David H : he play his card of not intend to let me go and reluctant to approve my resignation letter and to set the dramatic ambience at the Board Meeting today. he is a cameleon to me right now, I won't be the first friend who he deal with the work-friend relationship, and I guarentee I won't be the last person either.
Don't invest too much time dealing with it.
RDA video conference between Executive Member and Stoen turn out to be positive, well, anything can change anything since this is a Gorlia fight , however, it do lead to a consultataion map that Stone and I can draw upon - to make up my 2 months empty room in preparing next move, other than Executive Coaching, this is something solid I may build upon
Thanks to Guy Kawasaki and his " Art of Start " I check his points one by one and mapping with my first Domain - Leadership Development, it works perfect and the MEANING and Mantra portion fit almost perfect, it reflect to this is an ideal turn reality business and I should defenitely follow my heart.
Space Shake is not an easy approach, it's in an infant stage and I need to dump decent resource to make is work, I should keep this in mind:
-- The Black SWAN effect - all the impossible will happen
-- Thanksgiving Turkey - Camila / Mao and us is a live example
the scar stick in my heart, I should be more careful before putting turst to anyone. really.
Today, is Spirox Shareholders meeting and Board Meeting, David H should be ready for my resignation talk, I am following our protocol, plan win win with the Stroy I script.
Sharing my resignation with 6 persons : Annie and her baby, Sunny and her baby, Anita and our temp - Peggy. they should be informed the first place, really.

my resignation letter

This is the resignation mail I sent to David H last night, after our discussion about : Key Stakeholder analysis, Create Win-Win Story and the Procedure before exit, I craft the process myself and take it as an SOP for executive / officer resign from a listing company. to me, there's no hard feeling, David had his dream and believe, unfortunately, his dream didn't align with mine, and I am not going to thrinking my nature calling - Be the influencer. as for how successful I will be or he will become? this is the judgement I should leave it behind, or for somebody else to define.
Here you go:
Dear David,
Due to family issue and my aging parent, I need to go back to Taipei as soon as I can, in order not to slow down Spirox in its entrepreneurship mode, I have to officially submit my resignation to you today and hopefully to take July 31st my last working day in Spirox.
It's hard to say goodbye , especially in the place where I learn and grow significantly. wish you and Spirox a prosperous future ahead. Thanks again.

In order to make the bonus payment justified, I agreed to stay until end of July, of course, during the transition period, I will take leave as much as I can, when Meiling told me last night that the BMW repair bill will go up to 200,000 NT, well, the July salary is for this cause, I guess.
Do a little bit house keeping job at my studio last night and grab Guy Kawasaki's " Art of Start ", this is the guildline I needed the most now, read it from the first page and I realize the road I am climbing is a correct direction, with meaning, can develop Mantra and with a business model on hand. I will future polish it today and send it over to Celine, now the fun part comes : create the logo / theme / company name..
Remember the words David H said to me last night:
1. We are no longer Forum brothers
2. You can't survive as consultant
3. Do you think you are qualified to be executive coach?
4. I will urge you to find a job in 3 months
5. Let me think about if we need you as consultant to Spirox

From today

This is the first message I sent, quite interesting is I sent it to Jay and Eugenia before anyone. there must be something strange. following is the mail content I copied:
Dear Jay and Eugenia,
I would like to inform you - two of my best friend from the working relationship, I decided to leave Spirox and pursue my own dream - a bigger and higher dream , becoming the most valuable executive coaching in Asia and stick on the motto I reiterated : Influence the people who influence the world.
My last working day at Spirox will be June 30th, as a self-organized executive coach, I will return to Taipei and consider my residual value to what I've been experience before, fields such as : Media / Entertainment / Consultation / Cross-functional management , if any program come across Walkie or Just Entertainment, it will be much easier for me to present or meet you both in person.
please keep it confidential still as the official announcement should be made by Sprixo Board in a week.
Looking forward talking to you in July.
Yes.. All the Beginnings are Hopeful.
Never wait until you take rest, every moment if there's a break, I will take the break a real break, I mean, go somewhere, a vacation, but not to drive for next vision, this time, I will tried to do both.
Remember I spent the winter vacation with Sound - that's about time I leave Mr. Han, and now I have a long summer holidays with Sound, isn't it intereting? to take this opportunity, I should perform what a father should do to Fruit:
1. Take her out for branch one day.
2. Check her school and accomodate on her first school date - with wife
