GLC 2014 reflection

I  am not going to drag the chronicle for the past few days , but to highlight it ;

1) there is more than 10 western company ( CFF not include ) utilize it's network with chapter / YPOI and member to develop forum related product for corporate .

2) education  play vital role in YPO

3) event and social are great this year , but eating and living weren't not good

4) I fight the jetlack serious this time 

5) forum program is good for officers but not to facilitator 

6) I took picture with many who I might not have courage to ask for

Steve Vai - a true friend of mine

I have no idea that the event I organized ( they said put together ) means so much to all of them - all I knew is follow my heart and have a strong believe that my friend Steve will do what I think will do , the outcome is beyond our expectation .

Who were there ?

JJ on durum , Erucado ; Norbert ; Tim ; Chuck ; Jafi and Arthur on guitar ; George on Bass ; Royce ; wai ming ; syin and me are fans . Victor is our photsgrafer .

 The shuttle bus arrived at Steve's house by 3:00 pm , it's a big house . Steve bought it 17 years ago , a hours built in the 40's - we were taken the tour and escort to the studio around 3:45 and when open the door of studio - everyone is like : whoa -- more than 100 guitars on his wall and the jam began - we play and jam for about an hour , it ends by Steve perform his signature tune - for the love of God at his studio and the amazing one song -- do - do - do do do do -- do do do -- do - do . 

 The dinner is even better - Steve and Pia set up the vagetwble and fish for us - we drink and talk and come to a very insightful forum style session - Steve as moderator ask everyone what make you today ? Why you do what you do ? This round really get everyone to a deeply connection - the sharing is so profound that no one want to leave the table - we end up around 10 pm- 2 hours behind our schedule. My reflection today :

1. If you ask yourself can you be an musician . You better quit it

2. Better self is a positive thinking - Steve practice 9 hours a day 

3. Picture yourself at stage or at the environment you really enjoy 

4. If something didn't turn our right : don't stop ; keep doing 

5. Steve practice 11 times with no mistake before deliver to audience 

6. Think and operate the word " No "

7. Unconcience confidence come when you were really inspired 

8. Chuck ask  me so many question and want to be my friend in life

9. Jafi will brought me to Middle East someday .. 

America here I come

This will be my first landing to us after 911 - puerto  Rico didn't count as it is deem as land of the states .

Las angles , Hollywood , Santa Monica - many memories .

Last forum for Regent

It's not a " how can I live without you " scenario and I did a good " dialogue " between Steven and FIH forum .

The warm up for 2 hours works . Designs " you light up my life " as the ice breaker and to reiterate " problem ; issue ; life lesson " among forum participant . 

Call up steven after the session and make it a mature ending ...

HSR 3 hours connection

Thanks to chairman Ou who we connected via me Cheng and we do enjoy good time together this morning :

My introspective :

1. JHS - Magis ( more ) is similar to my main core 

2. Mr tang share his budda reflective methods and taught me 3 tea cup in better ( the upside down cup ; the bed smell cup and the leaking cup )

3. Chairman agree that : have a dream is important and before any team building 

4. I didn't finish it all - probably 1/3 of feh materials 

5. Mei qi - Madamn Ou is so warm who edit 10 yeses after pass of mr Cheng . I obtain a print copy and we talk a lot at jer Llunch table 

 Right here / right now ; open ; sharing is a good process - same at chairman ou mentioned - pre-EMP yourself before obsouebe .

Ender's game and Diana

If you choose Diana as your name , you must be special or to become special .

The movie " Diana " is not a documentary but as to portrait such a famous lady , no matter how dramatic the director want , you just can't break from many facts and the pressure under royal family . 

I enjoy this little piece - it share the insight about Diana's true self and how she eager to be loved.

" ender's game " is a futuristic outer space scitific film - not the genre of movie Meiling and I love , but I really enjoy it - from the strategic view point ; team and group built up scent ; the humanity toward non - human species - on top of that - the game simulation and computer graphic is amazing , it's truly an entertainment epic .

Reflective :

1) I should follow lio diao's step and do something on the remaining project 

2) Magis is " more " or " go extra miles " thanks to Ou's supplement to me in person. 

3) read but act on " the hero project "- you said 10 difference ideas and end up with nothing , your leave nothing ; you done one thing , and repeatly said it 10 times , you share with others how you walk the talk and leave the legacy .

Hubert session

Since I told him I am no longer engage with Regent - Hubert dump a lot of " first time " news to me - the trust get deeper and intimacy getting stronger .

We wwnt for she chi beef noodle and he send me to see Diana at Transglobe building - a very warm day in cold weather .

 Consult daniel about AJ 's idea.  With limited information , daniel reply with excellent 3rd part opinion :

1. Do I have the luxury to do charity at this moment 

2. Do I have the experice to contribute on fund management ? In the field I am not familiar with ?

3, perform good cause - do I need to lead or spend decent resources ?

 His second opinion support my " don't take it " decision. 

 Diana session went well : 40 minuts I provide her the rationale in deliver a well-thought speech . I think it helps her.

 On rice dumpling day mix with valentine evening , Meiling and I went our for the cone brother movie -- hope it's good 

  Martin inform me he is in town and I will see him after movie and complete his duty at music director for stafenite sun concert -- last minute but good friendship 

Regent TP forum graduation

I pick the mini retreat venue months before : borrow Daniel's little hide away , and arrange a dialogue for Amy and the group , didn't expect it will be the official final episode for this - but to digest what Meilijg asked many times ? Why Steve want to to do in regent ? To build a forum or to strengthen the bounding , and yes , we did it - when announce this is the final forum before Amy arrived . It's a shock to many of them and I do impress the outcome after the forum - they form a Line virtue group and call themselves : " A cut forum " - I  am in and thinking how to provide value consistently - " peer leading , be the good teach and value friend in life " 

It don't matter when it end , it matter how the ripple expend . Yes.  The end of the road and beginning of the journey . 

Celebrate new beginning

Even I can take it , the emotion gradually grow . Now I want to celebrat it as if pave more options ahead . Regent case is the first expericnce , should learnt it by heart 

 My reflection for this :

It's about time to call it an end , either from Regent or from me, corporate forum should serve 3 direction to be success and sustain :

1. Chairman or CEO taking one on one coach.

2. Corporate forum surface issue with open and trust 

3. Bringing consultant or internal task force to solve those surface 

 Bring CTC ( communion ; trust ; consensus )to workplace is much more important than doing it at training room .

Now what's in my mind is how to design and deliver my final course to them following forum protocol : listen ; accept ; question and sharing.

 This is real life about a coach or consultant - before you dry out or become disposal - you generate enough lead to subsitute .

For me , here after is my thought :

1. Spend relevant time with Hubert to build his empire 

2. Develop China with more time resource - corporate account and individual coachee 

3. Consolidate " transformation leader camp " 

4. Contribute on Xinwei Colleage's on going development 

5. Integrate and leverage J core entertainment into my realm of speciality 

Settle Tai Sui

This is a Chinese tradition - your birth animal against certain lunar year - you need to go to some temple for "settle it " in our terms - it's An Tai Sui. 

Mice is the birth animal against the liner year - we have 3 mices in our family - 79 years old mother ; 55 me and 19 sound .

We go to chi nan temple for performing this " settle in " - it rains heavy and we finished it by 10:30 am

The trip after is mix - a not so good movie at the art film theater , discover Chang Sun Tang is a great fun - now I know 2 more places for forum and to introduce taipei :

We wailed into Taipen at the same time. She is very familiar with 19th floor , I just follow her into the private room I booked. And then I greet her - doctor chen loh didn't aware I knew nothing about her but we are surprise to learn we do ceo see our pass in many traces and many encounter with future together :

1) she read my first book - translate from " the platinum rainbow " 23 years ago via Peter's Chang's introduction .

2) we knew jean in difference phase of time and mutually benefit from knowing her.

3) coco was select by her to become the mentor on " Chineae idol " and we share what we know in regard to entertainment industry .

4) I see her equip the quality become YPOer and share her how forum and YPO shape my life .

Sound is not happy with me - I am doing him favor by helping him out for the winter holiday home work - I am not good in video editing on PC nor good at transfer file between devices ... This is not my fault .

Don't know what trigger me to climb little mountain on my backyard - but I did it this morning - I set out the foot by 6:45 and finish my route by 7:40.

At Sheroton " guest house " - the food is really good which means I am over eating . The guest 

1. Charles shu : it's been a long time since we sit down and talk - ipo is a milestone and he become a real celebrity 

2. James wang : host tonight . Active members at SEE and brought Charles to the peospect list 

3. Yan Chun :lawyer wen member who love taiwan in a bias statue but I love what he post on wechat 

4. Wang Lin : the celebrity scholar from Hunan is a chararoer , you hardly can tell he is 62 years old 

5. Madam Su : rich lady from Xinyi district  who talk less 

6. Lu : late comer who good in making deal . A story teller who share the from pig food to brand pork story

Finally - it give me access to the CEO of HSR this afternoon - in a short and rush notice but I manage to make it happen.

Ou's office is a smoking room - he smoke in the office - a little defeat but I don't really care.

Ou begging to tell me his intention in this " strategy retreat " annually and how he wish the tier one management team understanding their value and contribution to Taiwan and community:

1) speed and communication 

2) respect 

3) caring

On the last 10 minutes , I brought up Mr Chen Dao She to the talking table and the chemistry take place - Ou spend 10 minutes sharing his love to Mr Chen and I knew my mission complete

Lay back in early Feb

Every office worker develop after CNY blue on their first day in office - so almost all the coffee chain offer their blue - killer campaign - buy one get one free. Meilijg and I manage to ibdulge ourselves with an extra large capuchino yesterday on our way to northern East Sea coast .

  As mark change his meal - meeting the 5th time - it gave Blanca a great deal of pain I know - the plan lunch on the 5th move to today . To take a day free on the first office open day wasn't a bad idea. So we go...

 Turtle roar is the first stop - to appreciate sea food . This time we tried a new restaurant - open leas than a year with great sea fresh . 

 On our way to taipei . We stop by San Chi country hill and spot a new site - wang Kung Chung museum - a private work house turn to a coffee - art complex . We enjoy the scene . The works and the tea - to support the artist couple - we buy something from the gallery and I know this is one of the idea for private tour .

  Doing 2 sci-con with family member :" breaking bad " with Meilijg and " games of throne " with sound - they both recmened by Hubert - nice to take TV break - long break.

  To real new novel by the author of " the kite " is another good time - alfrwngan story are rare to told and his story telling is amazing .

Planning to be 2 places:

1. We add one more person Jim to the Emba gang of 4 party . Now it's 5 of us have the first gathering this morning :

- update about child mainly : Sidney have Trouble with daughter apply the school elite team ; jasper will soon be a father in law - Debbie is getting married , Peter broke his rib and say little about kid , Jim contribute on his second child - from a rebel to a legend 

2. 3 days holiday in daoliu 

- visit fathers mountain house 3 times in 3 days 

- visit 3 tourist factories the first time : preserve seafood ; soy bean and skin care - a new model of marketing 

- breakfast chat with colleage classmate ( kind of reunine ) - bully , amigo and fan Yuang 

- over eating and over weight . Gain 2 kilogram 

- wang Kung is the oyster harbor we visit the first time - interest place

- Hu Wei culture and creative park - old building transform to new attraction - thanks to eslite book and Starbucks 

- my old home : This is the only decay house not been adapte and convert to culture and creative site in daoliu 

- Kung Chen street is a new finding from my morning walk 

- non stop home from 6:30 pm takinf highway 3 to TAIPEI
