A non familiar call :
Caller : is this Mr. Lee ?
I : Yes, who's calling ?
C : we are Sheng Sir restaurant. I am here to ....
I : yes , yes , I book for Jan. 5th lunch 
C: do you receive our message for TT the deposit ?
I : what ? It's too troublesome , then I don't want to go..
C: no no , we just want to confirm your reservation and for those who book over 6 persons , we will ask for deposit in case no show ..
I: please check my reservation record , I never no show before and it's too complicated for me ..
C: ok , we only ask for over 6 persons reservation ..
I: can I change my reservation to 5 person ? ..
C: well ... Your seats will be reserved .
My thinking :
- if you take booking a guartee for business , cancellation is the policy and risk . You can only take walk in guest ask see how it works better 
- pay for reservation ? If this is not a group reservation and not exceed 10.000 , why produce this complicate policy ?
- dose is align with consumer protection law ?
- if I pay the advance and cancel one day before . How the refund will do ? Panalty ? 
- you send the confirmation message and inform seats only revered 15 minutes , if this apply , I don't see any deposit requirement needed .
- if you makes 2 more calls on the day before meal , risk can waived .
My learning : this restaurant won't stay for one more year ...
