DUI#151: Emotion Bank Account
The Things : when the terms come out at our monthly session , it didn't go away yet grows , the resonation for my " E bank account " kept me thinking throughout my YPO years - Who I deposit my E bank account ? What emotion I have with them ? When did I save or withdraw it ? What's the balance today ? Friendship is an intangible asset , and Trust is the accelerator to friendship . I know I am rich in this perspective and I felt even luckier it's a positive chain reaction , friendship with trust generate energy for me to Do More . Or as what religious people says : " go extra miles "

The Why : I see the connector role of mine grows , the no discount trust parallels to the friend I mutually introduce is like a magic - how come the speed of connection and result can go so fast and tight ? I only hope my into benefit both party as I holds no expectation to the outcomes of business . 3 of my closest YPO friends from Thailand swift reply to see / meet Horace on his coming visit - I sense the no discount trust and feel a great E bank deposit increase .

Take Away :
1. When the decision come to should I trust the guy ? You need a good Endorsement.

DUI#152 Hello AJ
The things : take early flight to Beijing and run into AJ Huang on the same flight and sitting next to me . A wondering soul and my formal local forum mate in Taipei , I have not seeing each other for year and no particular reason to connect recently , but the smile and greeting is authentic so we talks about what I do recently , as a matter of fact - after all these years .

The Why : AJ ask for join international forum year ago , at that time , I am hesitating to follow up , today when it brought up again, I feel much comfortable to introduce one of my 2 regional forum to him and also felt the intimacy for having him sit on the same forum . As no comparison and no competition mindset birth in me , I am willing to introduce him to my regional forum .

Take Away :
1. All my formal local forum mate find their new forum except a few . Once you experience forum , you need someone to talk or someplace to share .
2. Everything happen for a reason , on my way to facilitate the pilot " Great China Chapter " forum fundamental workshop , I recall my memories with first forum I join.
3. Forum is the language protocols - and the protocols shorten your distance with any YPOer.

DUI#153: Greater China Chapter FF
The Things : invite to provide the forum fundamental workshop to newly established Chapter in Beijing , to facilitate workshop in Mandarin is comfortable to me and it's a new experience to new member gathering in Beijing for the workshop .

The Why : challenge and opportunity for YPO to develop his " leaders market in China " is to grow significant members without suffering his overall spirit ( quality : boutique connection : intimacy and shared value ) , greater china chapter trial is an initiative . As YPO promote forum / networks as it's hero product . I am the only facilitator who can deliver the mandarin training without a mandarin program material , I was call for take this assignment . Overall speaking , forum experience always amaze me , erotically when peers willing to openly demonstrate mutual trust , today , I receive the same warm response . The benefit for members as facilitator is participant willing to buy in fast and you can always easily share a first hand experience.

Take Away :

DUI#154: 「Hell or High Water 」:The movie
The Things : my mood shift today after complete a long day workshop and take the delayed airplane back . I was home 1:00 in the morning - so for today , Meiling and I go for movies to switch my mind for conducting another 2 days workshop tomorrow with 光寶。I use the window to evacuate my mind and refresh from "workshop mood " Meiling and I pick on Israel movie " The tale about love and darkness " at " wonderful theater " an art film rewrote from famous Israel write Amos Oz and took another one - " hell or high water " a semi commercial crime movie and the second one is a cult film we enjoy .

The Way : director is my major check point for going to movies : David Mackenzie is a rising star to me - " hell or high water " rationalize the crime , it give the brother a good cause to rob the bank and to save the family- when follow the scene , every crime they did " make sense " to me , things like rationale behind and the consequences it brings . Texas, county local bank , oil drill and runaways - bring me to the imaginary land I only see from the movie - It's another half day hide away .

Take Away :
1. A purely reflection to my behavior after intensive workshop - hiding somewhere in the dark box and dive in different scenes .
2. When my mind told me to find some movie and relax , I don't really care what I see but where I be - a routine ritual I perform.
3. When it's done , I know I should get back to work again - it's a pay off

DUI#155: lite-on workshop day 1
The thing : with the theme " coaching base leadership development workshop " a 2 days 14 hours intense session for 7 business forums create by lite-on " hi potential executives " - an open public workshop i did for my professor JR Lee.

The Why : tried to formalize an executive program for non YPO members and JR Lee offers a platform years ago , from a session to one day and now 2 days workshops , I gain the confidence to bring what I learnt and experience in YPO to the world beyond . To connect totally stranger who never have forum experience and result to a viable open dialogue is a happy process , first day is critical , it's a check in and buy in day , I hope for all in day tomorrow.

Take Away :
1. My way of facilitation been call to deliver an " art of leadership "
2. Almost all dive to vulnerable stage and openly take risk in sharing .
3. Excited to know the 4 major leadership attribution : vision ; passion ; integrity ; communication overlapped with Warren Bennie's finding as his masterpiece " becoming the leader " the mission one is " Trust "
4. Professor lee take the lunch break share me his finding in the morning : do more than talk more : I immediately re-arrange my slide and process and make the afternoon more interactive .

DUI#156: another day at lite-on workshop :
The Things : first day : check in and buy in pay off , collect 2 videos for check in this morning , both work well to bring everyone into the save and trust space . Program today is a concert corporate version - major difference in peer coaching from corporate hierarchy is " share your own experience but not giving advise "

The Why : I see the ODM / OEM talents lost their touch to be human being, constrain in the high pressure and no lapse of rest environments for too long , to lead them into a mind space is like letting a sleeping tiger get out of the cage , I am a little hesitate if I should drive them deeper , in the end I decided to follow my heart and be an appropriate director to product the show in second day . The result is amazing , cross BG talents build their intimacy , I use YPO 2015-2016 education program teaser " paradigm shift " as the closing video and to echo the theme of " Change and Better " workshop complete by 5:00 pm right before typhoon disturbing everyone's mind.

Take away : empathy and open in sharing are 2 major take away today ; unconventional worship shift everyone's expectations and I just perform better on where my passion drive .. another memory to be remembered.

DUI#157: typhoon day reflection
The Things : home stay , a very normal role as husband , father and son. I wasn't home when last 2 typhoon hit , and I decide cancel my trip to Shanghai today for the reason of stay with family and do nothing .

The Why : it's by far the strongest typhoon impact Taipei , I am glad for the decision made , meiling and I went every early to buy my favorite local breakfast and we over buy some for lunch . Watching National Geographic TV on a detective nature documentary, it talk about a father hire 2 private investigator to Costa Rica investigate his missing son - a better than movie experience as this is a Real Documentary.

Take away : 24 hours with your wife , you spot many behavior from her and begin your coaching process - this is good to realize the self awareness and my daily profession can support Meiling immediately.

DUI#158: 28th wedding anniversary
The Things : meiling and I have seen each other for 5 years and 28 years ago today we decided to build a family , it's been 30 more years since we knew each other . 9/28 if not for particular reason , we will drove out and spend a day together , no check mail and go freely anywhere we want to be.

The Why : day after typhoon, we decided to go outside - tamsui first and take 淡金公路 to 亞尼克 for our wedding small cake - on the road , meiling told me this is exactly the route I took the day before I went for the Heart surgery , I didn't recall until she mentioned , the route must mean something to me - had a beach side lunch and having our wedding cake at Yanick locate at 萬里。

Take away : we take the routine often yet realized why - we drifting with the one we love without explaining anything ; we ate at the same place and order the same food without judging the taste ; we reinforce the memories we wish to keep. I don't know how many times meiling and I ride on the same road but we know this is the true meaning of companion .

F & E : It is not another day , it's a wonderful day.

DUI#159: the other side ( hard or dark ) of Roger
The Things : taking up A zone leadership role for a while , Transfer me from coach - consultant to the man who take responsibility, a zone VP seems still out of the loop of my key concerns : turn around the business , as the one on one today , I send messages and explore to him the other side of Roger - the corporate guy and can be a result driven zombie.

The Why : the message I deliver kept me thinking the complicate in human behavior and this is to recap message I sent :
1. You have to work with KC : if you don't like the consultant I been trust for 50 years , I will take all responsibility back to myself .
2. You have close to 2000 friends on FB : it's not easy to build such a good connection, don't screw it up .
3. We are not a tender offering firm , don't waste time in developing non value added activity - similar to attach to III program .
4. There is no strategy in doing anything , we are here to saving cost and increase revenue .
5. High level management change ? Many rumors - what coming from me is the only truth .
6. Don't send me the daily sales - it's no point to me if not an analyze information .
7. Do what you have to do but don't use it to downplay others and hijack the communication window with me .
8. If we can't turn around - I will turn it back to ministry of culture and it only shows everyone we are incompetent.
9. Don't waste our life .
10. If you can't lead , I will take it
Take Away : the responsibility shifting your role and you act on the assign role .

DUI#160 : why you do what you do ?
The Things: a corporate trained person call me and ask for a follow up meeting , she knew I can't remember who she was and told me it's on profession JR Lee's NTU back to 3 months ago .. we meet at csr community office this morning .

The Why : when saw her , I recall the day at lunch , professor lee and her sit next to me and she show strong interest in what I do and how I did it - a totally revolution to corporate training - and she carry a mission to ask if I can do it for corporate . Actually she is more interested in " why I do what I do " than asking for a quotation : her question drive me to think through :

Take Away :
1. I love Connect with talent and manage them : in the music days , I am support talent in entertainment field ; as a coach , I am supporting talents in business field
2. Talent share 3 similar attribution : lonely ; insecure; eccentric .
3. When walk in worship , I never take it as a training but a co-create theater with everybody .
4. You seed and it sprout - one day the harvest may come .

DUI#162: True Detective Day
The Day : bought HBO mini series " true detective " the other day via the recommendation of my Tiger Forum mate , Meiling and I decided to finish the 8 episodes series today , so we begin our TV day from 8:30 am - TD to me is more a psychologically than crime drama , series killer always a good topic to build story the detective partner demonstrate totally different character paint the drama more dramatic . We enjoy TD and finish it in one day .
The Why : HBO produce " games of the throne " Netflix release " House of Cards " the TV channel base big production take a significant cut from the Hollywood pie - I always fascinated by how TV production can spend more resource than movie production and becomes a serious fan to mini drama - seldom I am disappointed, the only burden I develop is : do I really want to spend so much time on it ?

Take Away :
1. A few good lines : " the world is a flat circle " " you can't trust a man who don't trust themselves " everything outside your dimension is eternity " " when you advise , what comes to me is you are talking to yourself "
2. As I observe more in psychological dialogue , so many scene bring me reflection to where I was before - so vivid

DUI#164: Day Trip Huilien
The Things : since take over A Zone leaders' role in Aug. I didn't officially speak to all the A Zone co-works in public , today is my day to tell everyone 12 things in my mind and the session begin from 13:30 , my 25 minutes sharing is swift yet I secure time for one on one with manager and it last till 5:30 pm .
The Why : change is hurt and leave your comfort zone ain't easy , before I share my 12 points. I draw to an conclusion that 「人生不是「得到」就是「學到」千萬別到頭來一個都沒拿到。」and my points are :
1. 我會的，你們不會的。
2. 我不能的，你們能的。
3. 不是一個工作，不是一份薪水。
4. 突破：平行學習，共同成長。
5. 管理：自我領導，同儕領導。
6. 不能增進能力；不能增加營收；不能提高效率的不做。
7. 不懂就問，不會要説。
8. 不發黑函，不説人短。
9. 職務和職掌；授權和賦能；決策和執行。
10. 今年的策略只有：減少虧損，調整人的品質；建立作業標準。
11. 「想做」的讓你快樂；「該做」的難免痛苦。
12. 人不能「腦袋空空」或「口袋空空」
Take Away :
1. On one on give people a chance to disclose .
2. Stress and Depression is too common these days

DUI# 166:depression: a common mental issue for modern people
1. The Things : I sense my coach develop a withdrawal emotions and asked what happen , the wording let me feel the depression is everywhere today . It was said " I can feel something bad is going to happen " the person who " investing " or " image " negative emotion will bring down his / her energy and passion . Yesterday when conduct one on one with A Zone mangers . 2 of them seeking professional treatment as well.
2. The Way : " under extreme pressure " seems like a common statement around me and during my coaching practice I can see it getting serious day by day , what wake you up in the middle of the night turn to a 21 century mental issue , as I develop the depression before and learn how to bail myself out of the misery, I use my personal experience to support who suffers from depression, the more I help , the more I realized mental Heath is as impotence as physical health . And I believe in non medication cure .
3. Take away :
- Reset is the key : don't let the depression bias your mental judgements.
- Naming your depression : give it a name - a pet or whatever you can easily call it .
- Parking : park the named depression aside and to separate you and the depression
- Meditation : self - suggestion that this is what you willing to co-exist
- When come back again : call the name / park it
4. F & E : you can see through the eyes to know a person's inner health .
DUI#166: coaching is needed
The Things : Jason arrive at lunch 30 minutes before Mathew , the window of 1 on 1 giving us space to connect and his honestly & transparency kick in when overheard my profession is coaching now . Jason inform me a life coach needed who can help him dealing with Parliament life - a life can't allow anyone to be " himself " . A distortion of role many people can't handle it well .

The Why : vulnerability foster the trust , empathy resonate our own experience , by listening and understanding, I knew it clear that I am here to help - support a person who carries hopes for citizen in Taiwan . You can't give anyone what you don't have ... to let Jason HAVE before GIVE is essential . What I can't be sure is our conversation before lunch is an interaction of sharing or intention for solving or even furthermore:an invitation to coach ?

Take away :
1. Coaching is a "love at first sight "syndrome for both party .
2. You don't feel coach exist if you don't feel like coaching .
3. Anxiety is an urban and modern disease - it cross gender , industry and all walk of life .
4. Mental health is hard to diagnosis - you need to find a way to let it flow .
