FB and legacy

I am wondering how may people pass away but keep their FB account and maintain by his / her beloved ...
it's kind of " living memory by others " I don't know how to describe it as at least 10 of my FB connect friends passed away and their FB on " Birthday reminder " alway trigger me to think it again : " should we let go those already gone ? "
